Introduction
59 Y/ Female Patient with extreme pain in the perirectal region and extreme pain while defecation. CT abdomen and pelvis revealed diffuse inflammation and collection in the perirectal fat space.
Procedure details:
CT-guided aspiration of the perirectal abscess in a prone position under local anesthesia.
Introducer needle used: 18G spinal needle ;
No complications post procedure.
The patient tolerated the procedure well. 2 cc of thick pus was aspirated from the area.
Microorganism identified: Staph. Aures.
